[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 1st and discussed the Ukraine situation as well as international food and energy supply issues.
The Kremlin stated that "the two leaders had detailed discussions on current Russia-India relations, including the further development of mutually beneficial economic ties," and expressed satisfaction with "the significant increase in bilateral trade volume, including agricultural product supplies."
It added, "They also expressed mutual commitment to comprehensively strengthen the preferential strategic partnership between the two countries."
The Kremlin further said, "At Prime Minister Modi's request, President Putin explained the main situation regarding Russia's ongoing special military operation in Ukraine," and "President Putin pointed out the risky and provocative escalation policies of the Ukrainian regime and its Western backers, as well as the failure of political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis."
The two leaders reportedly also discussed the international food and energy market situation.
The Kremlin stated, "President Putin criticized structural mistakes by several countries that have disrupted the free trade system of food commodities and caused sharp price increases."
It added, "Illegal sanctions against Russia have further worsened an already complex situation, and these factors have also negatively impacted the international energy market."
The Kremlin reported that President Putin emphasized that Russia continues to be a reliable producer and supplier of grain, fertilizers, and energy resources.
