[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] On the morning of the 1st at 9 a.m., Gong Young-min, the elected 8th governor of Goheung County, Jeollanam-do, held an inauguration ceremony at Goheung Palyoung Gymnasium after paying respects at the Chung-hon Tower, attended by about 3,000 people including National Assembly member Kim Seung-nam, hometown residents from various regions, and county residents.

This inauguration ceremony emphasized that the true owners of Goheung are the county residents, and was conducted with pre-ceremony performances, voices of the residents expressing their hopes for the 8th term, a vision video for the 8th term, oath-taking, inaugural address, and congratulatory performances.

In the video featuring the voices of the residents that day, residents from various social sectors requested that “Governor Gong Young-min, who is being inaugurated, communicate with the residents for the development of Goheung and the happiness of the residents, listen carefully to their voices, and fulfill many of the things the residents want.”

In his inaugural address, Governor Gong Young-min of Goheung stated, “I will devote myself so that not a single resident is left behind on the path toward a hopeful future for Goheung,” and expressed his determination by saying, “I will always deeply engrave the slogan ‘Vigorous Leap, Hopeful Goheung!’ in my heart and start the great journey of Goheung’s development together with all residents.”

He also presented the county administration’s directions and strategies, including ▲ Goheung where everyone prospers together ▲ entering the rank of counties with a population of over 100,000 in 10 years ▲ the era of 10 million tourists in Goheung ▲ strengthening competitiveness of agricultural, fishery, and livestock products ▲ establishing a dense welfare system ▲ expanding the regional settlement infrastructure.

Goheung County chose the slogan for the 8th term as ‘Vigorous Leap, Hopeful Goheung!’ to signify advancing more vigorously for regional development and residents’ happiness and to breathe new hope into Goheung’s future.
