[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] Han Dong-hoon, Minister of Justice, who is on a business trip to the United States, will visit the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York on the 5th to meet with the Chief Legal Counsel and the head of the Securities and Financial Crimes Investigation Unit.
On the 1st, the Ministry of Justice announced additional schedules related to Minister Han's U.S. trip to the press corps. On the 5th, after meeting with current and former heads of the Securities and Financial Crimes Investigation Unit, Minister Han will visit the United Nations (UN) headquarters to hold meetings with the Under-Secretary-General and Chief of the Office of Internal Oversight Services, as well as the President of the Economic and Social Council.
On the 29th of last month, Minister Han visited the World Bank and met with the Vice President and General Counsel, as well as the Vice President and Chief Auditor, and paid tribute at the Korean War Veterans Memorial. On the following day, the 30th, he visited the FBI and met with FBI Director Christopher Wray to hear opinions on the FBI's personnel verification system. On the same day, he also visited the U.S. Department of Justice, meeting with the Deputy Attorney General and Director of the Criminal Division, the Deputy Attorney General and Director of the Antitrust Division, the head of the National Cryptocurrency Investigation Unit, and the Director of the International Legal Affairs Office.
Minister Han's current trip was planned to learn from advanced systems such as the FBI and the UN and to meet key personnel to gather their insights. Before departure, Minister Han told reporters, "This is a business trip to establish routine cooperation."
