Kim Dong-yeonho Appointed as Gyeonggi-do's First Secretary-General, Jeong Gu-won as Head of Childcare Policy Division

The Gyeonggi Province Governor Transition Committee held a press conference on the 30th at the briefing room on the first floor of the Future Hall at the Gyeonggi Province Governor Human Resources Development Institute and announced that Director Jeong was selected as the Chief Secretary through the first internal recruitment.

Director Jeong was appointed in 1995 through the Gyeonggi Province Grade 7 open competitive exam. After working at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, he returned to Gyeonggi Province, serving as Public Institution Officer, Head of the Work-Family Support Division, and is currently working as the Director of the Childcare Policy Division.

Earlier, on the 21st, Governor-elect Kim announced that he would create a pleasant rebellion in personnel affairs by selecting the Chief Secretary through an internal recruitment within the provincial government. This internal recruitment for the Chief Secretary position is the first of its kind in the history of the elected Gyeonggi provincial government. Until now, except for the last term of the 7th elected government, most Chief Secretaries have been retired public officials or external personnel.

At that time, Governor-elect Kim stated via social networking services (SNS), "I deeply trust the public officials of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government," and promised, "I will select the Chief Secretary through recruitment among general public officials working in the province, not among those who worked in the election camp."

He added the background of the Chief Secretary recruitment, saying, "I will create a 'pleasant rebellion' in provincial administration and personnel," and "I hope many provincial government officials at the Chief Secretary level who will vigorously and enthusiastically support my provincial administration will apply."

Meanwhile, a total of 11 people applied for this recruitment, and document screening and interviews were conducted for these applicants.
