Yongin City Renovates Walking Trails at Daejisan Neighborhood Park

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has invested 300 million KRW from the Special Adjustment Grant to renovate the walking trail at Daejisan Neighborhood Park located in Jukjeon-dong, Suji-gu.

Daejisan Neighborhood Park is a mountainous urban park where nearby residents can enjoy light hiking and experience nature.

However, many parts of the dirt walking trail were eroded, posing a high risk of safety accidents, and there were continuous requests for reinforcement due to concerns about soil erosion.

In response, Yongin City repaired part of the entrance road last year and began renovating the walking trail in April this year by installing coir mats and wooden stairs. Additionally, at the trailhead, 1,500 shrubs including Yeongsanhong, Mountain Azalea, and White Azalea, as well as 3,000 herbaceous plants such as Liriope, were planted.

The city plans to reinforce the slopes beside the walking trail to minimize the possibility of soil erosion.

A city official stated, "We hope residents can relax on the newly renovated walking trail at Daejisan Neighborhood Park," and emphasized, "We will continue to do our best to ensure citizens can use the park safely and conveniently through meticulous management such as drainage."
