KCCI Communicates Press Releases Through Shorts

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is changing its promotional methods. Following Chairman Chey Tae-won's inauguration, the 'National Development Project' broadcast videos have been communicated via YouTube, and even somewhat stiff image press releases are now being shared through short videos, so-called 'shorts.'
These shorts videos, named 'Bo.Tok.S,' are an abbreviation of 'Press Release Talk Box.' They include videos such as "Phones Exploding Within 2 Minutes," "Carbon Neutrality Mock Test," and "ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Balance Game."
In a recently uploaded video titled "Chairman Chey Tae-won's Kkondae Theory," Chairman Chey asks, "CEO Kim Bong-jin! Have you tried the Kkondae Power Test?" and a clip shows Kim Bong-jin, CEO of Woowa Brothers, nodding. The 50-second short video is a cut from the 'New Entrepreneurship Spirit Proclamation Ceremony.'
Hwang Mi-jung, head of the New Media Team, said, "The goal is to explain complex research content in an easy-to-understand way," adding, "Through short talk shows, web dramas, and mock tests, we deliver economic phenomena and regulatory content memorably. The raw acting of KCCI employees, contrasting with the neat composition, surprisingly adds fun."
