[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] The Tourism Management Department at Daegu University announced on the 29th that it signed a business agreement with KOTFA at the Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center on the 25th.
This agreement was arranged as part of the Tourism Management Department's participation in the '2022 World Tourism Industry Conference,' a large-scale international event hosted by the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization).
KOTFA is a company that hosts various international conferences, and through this agreement, students will be provided with ongoing internship activities and practical opportunities at international events.
The participating students had the opportunity to learn about new ecotourism policies while understanding the presentations of tourism leaders visiting from 15 countries overseas and the trends in the global tourism industry post-COVID-19. They also experienced firsthand the operation methods of event programs by international event planning companies on site.
Lee Eung-jin, head of the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at Daegu University, said, “Our region's diverse tourism resources are formed against the backdrop of the area's nature and culture,” adding, “Through new opportunities to participate in international tourism events, we will enhance students' passion and fulfill our role in supporting their employment.”
The Tourism Management Department at Daegu University operates learning programs that actively respond to changes in domestic and international tourism environments. In particular, through practical tourism education, it fosters tourism industry leaders by providing education in new fields such as tourism MICE theory, ecotourism theory, and regional experiential tourism theory, which are demanded by our society.
