Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Conducts Unannounced Emergency Rescue Control Team Drill

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the afternoon of the 29th, Gwangju Northern Fire Station conducted an unannounced activation drill of the Emergency Rescue Control Team at the Korean Red Cross Gwangju Jeonnam Branch to enhance emergency rescue response capabilities at various disaster sites.

The drill aimed to strengthen rapid and efficient disaster response capabilities in the event of a large-scale fire by unannounced activation of the Emergency Rescue Control Team. It focused on mastering the control team’s operational procedures, including activation procedures of the emergency rescue response plan and individual task awareness, emphasizing step-by-step situation handling during the training.

Assuming a fire started in the third-floor computer room causing multiple casualties, the drill began with receiving the report and proceeded with ▲dissemination of disaster site information ▲activities of the first response team and command team ▲triage and transport measures for multiple casualties ▲unannounced activation of the Emergency Rescue Control Team ▲disaster situation briefing and recovery and cleanup, focusing on the execution of Emergency Rescue Control Team operations.

Chief Lee Dong-young said, “It is necessary to conduct rapid and systematic training to prepare for various types of disasters that occur without warning,” and added, “Through drills like real situations, we will do our best to strengthen on-site response capabilities to actively cope with any disaster situation.”
