Namwon-si to Open Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center Water Playground Starting Next Month

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Namwon City in Jeonbuk announced on the 29th that it will open a children's water playground within the Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center from next month 1st to August 31st.

The Baekdudaegan water playground, which completed water quality inspections and facility checks, was established in 2018, covering approximately 800㎡ with an investment of 500 million KRW.

It is equipped with various facilities such as a combination playset, water drop, and water tunnel.

The water playground operates six times daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with each session running for 50 minutes followed by a 10-minute facility inspection. It is closed on Mondays and free to use.

Until now, there was no shade at the water playground, so citizens and tourists enjoyed water play under the scorching sun. This year, a large shade structure has been installed around the water playground, providing a cool space where children can freely enjoy water activities.

The city expects many family visitors during the summer, including citizens, eco-lodge guests, and national leisure camping site users, and plans to assign three permanent staff members, including dedicated officials and safety personnel, to maintain order and prepare for any safety accidents at the water playground.

A city official said, "We will do our best to ensure that the Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center water playground becomes a summer retreat that citizens and visitors think of, carefully inspecting safety and even the smallest details so that everyone can have a happy summer."
