[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Woo Sang-ho, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 29th regarding media reports that Jang Je-won, a member of the People Power Party, pressured a media company, "The power of the influential figure is tremendous."

At the emergency response meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Woo said, "There was a report that Representative Jang called a media company and pressured them."

He pointed out, "I have never made a single phone call even when unfavorable reports about me came out or panelists insulted me," adding, "He is an impressive person."

He continued, "The public will feel very displeased with the exercise of power by influential figures," and said, "I cannot help but point out whether gathering 60 lawmakers to form factional organizations and making pressure calls to media companies is the essence of Yoon Seok-yeol's faction."

Chairman Woo criticized, "The more power one has, the more humble and modest one should be," and said, "One should serve the people, but if power is exercised to protect oneself and build a faction, it will soon lead to downfall."

Regarding the Ministry of Justice filing a constitutional lawsuit against the Prosecutor Reform Act (commonly known as the "Prosecution Complete Abolition Act"), Chairman Woo criticized, "It's absurd." He said, "The Ministry of Justice filed a constitutional review lawsuit against the National Assembly's decision," and pointed out, "Finally, we have moved beyond the era of separation of powers defined by the Constitution, and the Ministry of Justice has emerged as another power. It has become an era of separation of private powers."

He said, "How can a government ministry file such a lawsuit against the National Assembly?" and added, "I cannot help but point out the tremendous power of Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon." He then stated, "I strongly warn that this constitutional review lawsuit should be withdrawn," and declared, "The Ministry of Justice is not a power. Minister Han, get a grip."
