"Welcome with Lotback" Lotte Department Store Jeju Concept Pop-up Store Opens The Citrus Bear character from the Ireland Project.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Department Store will open a pop-up store of the Jeju fashion specialty store ‘Island Project’ at Jamsil Lotte World Mall from next month 1st to August 31st.

Island Project is a brand started to promote Jeju through its signature character ‘Gamgyul Bear,’ and is a fashion brand with the slogan ‘JEJU 1995’ commemorating the year Jeju City was promoted. Currently, two stores are operating in Jeju Island, and Lotte Department Store is the first domestic retailer to introduce it in Seoul.

The pop-up store will showcase a wide range of products favored by the younger generation, from fashion apparel to accessories and phone cases. First, various concept fashion items featuring the signature character Gamgyul Bear have been exclusively planned. They will offer Gamgyul Bear T-shirts, Jeju Haenyeo Bear T-shirts, Surfing Bear T-shirts, Golf Bear T-shirts, and also sell T-shirts and pants using the Jeju Classic logo. In addition, customers can find miscellaneous goods such as Island Project pan stickers and five types of magnets, Gamgyul Bear umbrellas, postcards, phone cases, as well as products like Gamgyul jelly, a collaboration between ‘Jeju Arbang’ and Island Project.

Events for customers visiting Island Project are also prepared. During the event period, various promotions will be held, including giving a specially made Gamgyul fan as a gift to customers who purchase products.

Meanwhile, the store layout is also designed to match Jeju’s sensibility. The entire interior is arranged with the concept of a Jeju Gamgyul farm, and Jeju’s atmosphere is maximized by using Gamgyul container boxes and more.

Seo Yongseok, head of the women’s fashion division at Lotte Department Store, said, “We opened this pop-up store to introduce Jeju’s fashion sensibility, which is emerging as a fashion hot place for the MZ generation (Millennials + Gen Z). In the future, we will provide various shopping opportunities to customers visiting the department store through collaborations with famous fashion brands from not only Jeju but also other regions.”
