Naju-si Introduces QR Application Service for Large Waste Disposal

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyuk] On the 28th, Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced that it has added a QR application service feature to facilitate citizens' reporting of large waste disposal.

Currently, online and mobile applications for large waste disposal, which allow easy processing without visiting the administrative welfare center in person, can be made through the ‘Naju City Large Waste Application’ website.

Depending on the disposal specifications and items, fees can be paid (credit card, virtual account, bank transfer), and after printing the disposal certificate and attaching it to the waste, it should be disposed of at the designated location on the scheduled date for collection within a week.

The city added a feature that allows users to access the large waste online disposal application screen immediately by running the phone’s camera app and scanning the QR code.

To improve citizens’ accessibility to the QR code, promotional materials were produced and distributed at administrative welfare centers and apartment complexes, and recently, training on large household waste disposal reporting was conducted for officials in charge at 20 towns, townships, and neighborhoods.

The training covered topics such as ‘Introduction and promotion of mobile QR codes,’ ‘How to use the large waste management system,’ ‘Free home collection of old electronic appliances,’ and ‘Methods for disposing of agricultural waste,’ aiming to provide smooth service and increase reporting rates.

A city official said, “Using the online application not only saves time and costs but also reduces tax expenses by decreasing printed disposal certificates, and contributes to reducing household waste. We will continue to devise various measures to improve citizens’ convenience in separating and disposing of large waste, including the introduction of QR codes.”
