[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA) announced on the 28th that it held a 'Meeting of Representatives of Listed Registered Corporations' on the 27th at the Orchid Room of the Westin Chosun Hotel.
A total of about 100 people, including representatives and quality control managers from 40 listed registered corporations, attended the meeting. Kim Young-sik, president of KICPA, said, "The economic conditions in the Republic of Korea are very critical following the COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "In this crisis, the accounting industry should fully understand the difficulties faced by companies and make every effort to improve audit quality and service enhancement through self-regulation."
At the meeting, guidance was provided on the accounting supervision procedure advancement plan announced earlier this month by the financial authorities, and opinions were exchanged regarding domestic and international environmental changes surrounding the accounting industry.
