[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Imjado and Dochodo in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, were selected as two of the 15 "Summer Islands You Want to Visit" jointly chosen by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Island Promotion Agency.

The 15 "Summer Islands You Want to Visit" were selected based on four travel themes: ▲ "Splash Islands" where you can enjoy a refreshing summer with water play ▲ "Camping Islands" ideal for viewing the blue summer night sky ▲ "Health Food Islands" full of nutritious foods for revitalization ▲ and "Snapshot Islands" where you can capture memories of the hot summer sea.

In Sinan-gun, Imjado was selected as a "Health Food Island," and Dochodo was chosen as a "Snapshot Island."

Imjado, the Health Food Island, is famous as the largest production area of croaker, a representative health food in summer.

Croaker contains large amounts of unsaturated fatty acids and essential amino acids known to be excellent for preventing arteriosclerosis, dementia, and cancer. It has a mild taste and is easily digested and absorbed, making it widely used for the growth of children and the revitalization of the elderly and patients.

Every summer, all croakers caught in the waters off Sinan gather at Imjado, where a croaker auction is held every morning at the Songdo wholesale market, creating a lively scene.

Dochodo, the Snapshot Island, is a great island to capture the best moments of your life. It boasts various tourist resources such as the Garden of Fantasy (a 10-ri road lined with premium Chinese hackberry trees), the filming location of the movie Jasaneobo, and Simok Beach located within the Dadohaehaesang National Park. Currently, the Hydrangea Festival is being held at the Hydrangea Park until the 3rd of next month.
