[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The 'Do-ing' campus project by Jeon Ho-hwan, president of Dongmyung University, aimed at utilizing the university campus globally including in the United States, is progressing smoothly.

President Jeon recently visited Columbia College in Washington D.C. (President Kim Kwang-soo) to discuss the effective utilization of Dongmyung University's local campus in the U.S., which was agreed upon last August.

Dongmyung University plans to use Columbia College as its U.S. branch campus. They agreed to proceed with ▲student exchanges and visiting professors ▲exchange students ▲credit exchange and joint degrees ▲program exchanges ▲joint operation of the E-campus, and during this local inspection visit, they specifically discussed the local completion requirements for the Do-ing university program.

On the morning of June 22 local time, President Jeon and his delegation discussed at Columbia College the conditions for waiving exchange student tuition, methods to link internship costs and living expenses support, local completion methods for the Do-ing program, and the scope of credit recognition.

In the future, Dongmyung University students will gain various exchange opportunities such as internships and short-term training in the U.S.

The two universities will also jointly operate the E-campus, which includes earning Google Certificates and U.S. university credits through Coursera online courses.

Since its founding, Columbia College has actively implemented programs supporting local settlement of U.S. immigrants and their children and admission to U.S. universities, which is expected to be a great strength for systematic education for Korean students.
