In a post on Facebook that day, President Yoon said, "My administration and I will make every effort to defend freedom and peace."

He added, "We remember the blood and sweat shed by the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and UN veterans for the free Republic of Korea," emphasizing, "The freedom, peace, and prosperity we enjoy today were achieved on the sacrifices and dedication of these individuals."

He continued, "We will build a nation that properly honors those who have devoted themselves to the country and fulfills its role and responsibility in defending freedom in the international community."

Finally, President Yoon stated, "We will establish a strong security posture based on the ROK-US alliance and a science and technology-strong military."
