[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education conducted a two-day joint training session on career experience education community capacity building for about 40 people, including career guidance teachers and managers of the career experience support centers and startup experience centers in the five districts and counties of Ulsan, on the 24th and 25th.
This year, the Office of Education held meetings such as the Middle School Career Guidance Teachers’ Chairpersons’ Council and the Ulsan Five Districts and Counties Career Experience Support Centers Council to promote career experience activation.
The Office of Education also operates career education support teams, career experience support teams, and entrepreneurship spirit cultivation education support teams.
They run regionally specialized career experience programs related to Ulsan’s key industries such as future automobiles and hydrogen fuel cell chemistry, department and career experience programs linked with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), and regionally connected startup experience education programs including cultural content startups and upcycling startups, supporting students to independently cultivate their career development capabilities.
The training involved various educational communities such as Ulsan career guidance teachers, career experience support centers, and startup experience center managers, establishing a cooperative system for career experience and revitalizing career experience education in preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
During the training, participants visited the Startup Campus Startup Experience Center in Pangyo Techno Valley to experience the startup ecosystem and practiced using entrepreneurship spirit cultivation education content, exploring ways to apply these in school settings.
They also experienced Paju Book City, the only publishing culture industrial complex in Korea, to enhance understanding of publishing industry occupations and experienced the entire publishing process from planning to printing and distribution. A discussion session was held on the future direction of the publishing industry and changing job patterns in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.
The Office of Education plans to create an environment where students can use big data in schools to generate ideas on social and environmental issues such as the climate crisis, independently demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, and continuously take on challenges.
An official from the Office of Education said, “Through this training, we will spare no support to help students develop future competencies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and strengthen their self-directed career development capabilities among various careers and occupations.”
