[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Kim Joil) announced on the 23rd that it held the '2022 Jeonnam Volunteer Fire Brigade Lecture Contest' at the Jangheung Integrated Medical Convention Center.

This contest was conducted in two categories (Daily Safety and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) with 16 volunteer fire brigade safety instructors from 11 teams across the province participating.

With about 130 volunteer fire brigade members attending, the contest featured passionate lectures by presenters in each category for 10 minutes, followed by evaluations of teaching materials and presentations to select three outstanding instructors in each category.

In the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation category, members of the Suncheon City Male Volunteer Fire Brigade won the Grand Prize, members of the Wando County Gogeum-myeon Volunteer Fire Brigade won the Excellence Award, and members of the Jindo County Jindo-eup Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade won the Encouragement Award.

In the Daily Safety category, the Grand Prize went to the Haenam County Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade, the Excellence Award to the Yeosu Fire Station Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade, and the Encouragement Award to members of the Suncheon Fire Station Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade.

The members selected as the top instructors in each category at this contest will represent Jeonnam at the national volunteer fire brigade lecture contest in October.

Chief Kim Joil of the Fire Headquarters said, “With the recent increase in safety awareness among residents, the demand for fire safety education is rising every year. I hope this contest will serve as an opportunity to cultivate many specialized volunteer fire brigade instructors and expand the activities of the volunteer fire brigades.”
