"People Power Party, after saying 'Let's run the marathon together' over the organization of the National Assembly, ends up running in place with tricks"
"Delay in organization, enjoying the situation as there is no strategic disadvantage"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 23rd, Park Hong-geun, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the People Power Party's claim that "the Democratic Party set the withdrawal of Lee Jae-myung's lawsuit as a condition for negotiating the organization of the National Assembly" as a "blatant lie," saying, "They are trying to escalate political conflict by slandering the Democratic Party as an immoral group demanding political backroom deals."

On the same day, Park emphasized at the policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly in the morning, "Floor leader Kwon Seong-dong made a blatant lie that the Democratic Party set the withdrawal of the lawsuit as a precondition to save Lee Jae-myung," adding, "The negotiating parties are only deepening distrust. Neither I nor any member of the floor leader group proposed or mentioned such a thing."
Park said, "If the organization of the second half of the National Assembly is delayed, they may forcibly appoint problematic personnel, so it can only be seen as enjoying this situation that is not politically disadvantageous," and added, "Floor leader Kwon should promptly take responsibility as the party that overturned the negotiation table with distorted claims instead of trying to evade by saying his remarks were misunderstood."
He also pointed out, "They said let's run a marathon together regarding the organization negotiation, but they are just running in place and then cunningly getting into a car alone," and said, "The public is witnessing the strange phenomenon where the opposition party wants to negotiate, but the ruling party responsible for state affairs is trying to break the negotiations at all costs." He added, "If caught riding a car while running a marathon, it is disqualification," and said, "Trust must be restored starting with implementing the agreed matters between the ruling and opposition parties. Since the People Power Party first proposed the marathon negotiation, we urge them to apologize for their mistakes and return with a concession plan as the ruling party."
