The 1 Millionth Winner is Kim Young-soon: "The Greatest Happiness"

The number of visitors to Cheongwadae surpassed 1 million within 44 days of its opening. The Cultural Heritage Administration's Cheongwadae Opening Promotion Team and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation announced that the 1 millionth visitor arrived at 1:19 PM on the 22nd. The honored guest was Kim Young-sun (73), a resident of Chungju City. She received a commemorative watch along with a congratulatory bouquet. Ms. Kim said, "This is the greatest happiness that has come in 72 years," and added, "I want to come again ten times, even a hundred times."

Cheongwadae was opened on the 10th of last month. During the special public opening event period until the 22nd of last month, the number of visitors was 377,888. From the 23rd of last month to the 11th of this month, during the extended public opening period, 439,264 people visited. From the 12th to the 22nd, after switching to regular opening, 182,848 people visited. The average number of visitors on weekdays was 22,755. On weekends, about 16% more visitors came, totaling 26,443. The Promotion Team is holding various cultural events accordingly. An official stated, "We will cultivate Cheongwadae more substantively and return it to the people."
