"Donations Transferable via KakaoPay on Twitter"

First Implementation Among Domestic Simple Payment Services

"Donations Transferable via KakaoPay on Twitter"

[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Kakao Pay will enable users to send and receive donations on the social networking service (SNS) Twitter.

Kakao Pay announced on the 22nd that it has launched a 'Twitter Donation' remittance service.

Accordingly, domestic Twitter users can now send and receive donations via Kakao Pay. Users can easily donate through Kakao Pay without using overseas payment services like Patreon or cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Kakao Pay is the first domestic simple payment and remittance service to be applied to Twitter's 'Donate' feature.

To send a donation, click the 'Donate' icon on the Twitter account page and select Kakao Pay as the payment method. Then, users will be directed to the Kakao Pay 'QR Remittance' page, where they can send the desired donation amount or donate the amount set by the account.

If you want to receive donations directly, activate the 'Donate' feature on your Twitter profile page and select Kakao Pay in the payment options. Then, register your Kakao Pay remittance code link on your profile page. The remittance code link can be copied by selecting the scanner icon at the top right of 'More' in KakaoTalk and then pressing 'Remittance Code' at the bottom. This service is available to all Twitter app users aged 18 or older on iOS and Android versions.

Kakao Pay is building an overseas payment infrastructure by securing various overseas merchants beyond Twitter. Since 2019, Kakao Pay payments have been available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Payments via Kakao Pay are also accepted on Netflix, Spotify, Steam, Sony, iHerb, AliExpress, Microsoft, and more. In Japan, Macau, and Singapore, Kakao Pay is also accepted at offline merchants.

A Kakao Pay official stated, "We will continue to make efforts to resolve financial inconveniences in various fields so that users can live their financial lives more easily and safely."
