Kim Cheol-woo, Bosung County Governor, Conducts Safety Inspection of Disaster-Prone Areas During Rainy Season

Emphasizing Priority on Securing Civilian Safety by Visiting Major Construction Sites for Disaster Preparedness

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] On the 21st, Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, along with heads of relevant departments and eup/myeon chiefs, conducted an on-site safety inspection of disaster-prone areas and workplaces in preparation for the rainy season disasters.

The on-site inspection was carried out as the summer natural disaster countermeasure period began. Anticipating heavy rainfall during the monsoon season, they focused on inspecting major construction sites within the jurisdiction, disaster-prone vulnerable areas by eup and myeon, and steep slopes near residential areas.

During the inspection, residents’ difficulties were heard, and after the on-site inspection, an emergency situation countermeasure meeting was held in the small conference room of the county office.

Governor Kim emphasized that immediate safety management measures should be established and implemented for workplaces and steep slopes where problems were found, and that administrative efforts should be concentrated with the top priority of ensuring the safety of all residents.

Kim Cheol-woo, governor of Boseong-gun, stated, “Boseong-gun must respond actively and proactively to diverse and unpredictable weather conditions.” He added, “We will do our best to communicate and cooperate together so that residents can live safely from any natural disaster.”

Meanwhile, Boseong-gun was the first in the nation to be declared a special disaster area at the eup/myeon level in 2018 through proactive disaster safety response, and has demonstrated advanced administration in safety by being selected as an excellent institution in disaster management evaluation for three consecutive years and receiving the Dasan Safety Award for three consecutive years.
