[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is making every effort to minimize damage such as landslides and flooding as the monsoon season begins in earnest.
The county announced on the 22nd that it will conduct safety inspections of major business sites in the region, landslide risk areas, and areas of concern for human casualties to minimize damage during the monsoon season.
To this end, safety inspections will be conducted by the 24th on four major facilities, 31 landslide risk areas, areas of concern for human casualties, major facilities such as rainwater storage facilities and drainage pump stations.
In particular, to prevent safety accidents and poor construction at construction sites in preparation for heavy rain, public facilities at major business sites will be comprehensively inspected.
Accordingly, the implementation of safety management plan procedures will be checked, and on-site inspections will be conducted for construction sites at risk of flooding, safety-vulnerable facilities, and drainage-related infrastructure directly related to the safety of residents.
In addition, sector-specific monitoring of disaster-vulnerable areas and facilities such as landslide, falling rocks, and collapse risk areas will be strengthened.
The county plans to immediately correct and supplement minor issues on-site based on inspection results, and take measures such as emergency repairs and reinforcements for serious defects or risk factors.
Along with this, thorough preparations for heavy rain damage have been planned, including emergency duty by county office and eup/myeon staff during heavy rain advisories and warnings.
A county official said, “As the monsoon season begins in earnest, we will do our best to prepare for the monsoon so that residents do not suffer damage from disasters,” adding, “We will do our utmost to eliminate risk factors that may occur during this year’s heavy rain and monsoon period in advance to prevent damage.”
