[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Lee Junhyung] The government has announced the administrative notice for the 'Nuclear Power Export Strategy Promotion Team,' which will serve as the control tower for supporting nuclear power plant export.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 22nd that it will issue an administrative notice for the establishment of the "Regulations on the Establishment and Operation of the Nuclear Power Export Strategy Promotion Team," a Prime Minister's directive, until the 12th of next month. The Promotion Team will act as a pan-government control tower supporting the overseas expansion of the domestic nuclear power industry. Through the Promotion Team, the government aims to respond to various demands from nuclear power plant ordering countries and differentiate export strategies from competing countries.

The head of the team will be Minister Lee Chang-yang of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. To discuss various cooperative projects such as with nuclear power plant ordering countries, defense, construction, and infrastructure sectors, related ministries, power and financial public enterprises, and private experts will participate as committee members.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will operate a preparatory team until the Promotion Team is launched. Earlier this month on the 8th, the Ministry held a preparatory meeting for the Nuclear Power Export Strategy Promotion Team with related ministries, nuclear power-related public enterprises such as KEPCO and KHNP, and financial institutions. Park Dong-il, Director of Nuclear Industry Policy at the Ministry, said, "We plan to operate the preparatory team until the Promotion Team is launched to make prior preparations," adding, "We will make every effort to support nuclear power plant orders in earnest as soon as the Promotion Team is operational."
