‘Showcasing the Essence of Gyeongbuk Crafts!’ … Winners Selected for the 52nd Gyeongsangbuk-do Craft Exhibition

Gyeongbuk Province Craft Exhibition, Grand Prize awarded to Ha Tae-hoon (Gilsang Ceramics) for the 'Joseon Dynasty Hat-Inspired Ancestral Table Set'.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Gyeongbuk Province selected 43 works, including the grand prize-winning piece "Joseon Dynasty Hat-Inspired Jooansang Set" by artist Ha Tae-hoon (Gilsang Ceramics), at the judging of the 52nd Gyeongsangbuk-do Craft Exhibition held on the 17th, and will hold an exhibition.

Marking its 52nd year this year, the Gyeongbuk Craft Exhibition has been hosted and organized by the province along with the Daegu·Gyeongbuk Craft Cooperative to continue the legacy of our traditional culture and promote the development of the regional craft culture industry.

This year's exhibition held on the 14th and 15th of this month featured a total of 65 entries, which were rigorously judged by 10 experts in various craft fields to select the award-winning works.

A total of 43 outstanding works were selected as winners, including 1 grand prize (3 million KRW), 1 gold prize (1.5 million KRW), 3 silver prizes (1 million KRW each), 4 bronze prizes (500,000 KRW each), 11 special selections, and 18 honorable mentions.

In addition, winners of bronze prizes or higher receive certificates and prize money, as well as a 2 million KRW incentive grant to support excellent craft product manufacturers and eligibility to enter the Korea Craft Exhibition (for special selection or higher).

The awarded works will be exhibited from the 23rd to the 26th of this month on the 3rd floor (Gallery 34) of the Andong Culture and Arts Center, and are open for public viewing.
