Opening in July, Recruiting Resident Companies
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changshin University Startup Incubation Center has received final designation approval from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Changwon City, Gyeongnam, applied for the new designation of Changshin University Startup Incubation Center to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in early May, and received designation approval after an on-site evaluation earlier this month.
The entire 5th floor of Changshin University Comprehensive Building (Building 3) was utilized to create 15 office spaces for company occupancy, and with this designation approval, there are now a total of eight startup incubation centers located in Changwon City.
Changshin University Startup Incubation Center is a specialized lab for smart convergence industries, focusing on nurturing startups in areas based on the 4th Industrial Revolution such as aerospace machinery, smart factories, ICT, and smart healthcare. It is scheduled to open in July and will recruit resident companies.
The city plans to provide administrative and financial support so that Changshin University Startup Incubation Center can effectively lead and drive the growth of innovative technology entrepreneurs in the region.
A city official stated, “The startup incubation center provides office space, information on management and technology, education, and consulting services to prospective or early-stage startups with fresh ideas and excellent technological capabilities,” adding, “It will serve as a forward base for nurturing companies by supporting stable startup activities.”
Park Dongjin, Director of the New Growth Industry Division, said, “We hope that through the newly designated center, more local entrepreneurs will seize startup opportunities and grow,” and added, “We will do our best to support the startup incubation center to become a cradle of technology startups based in the region.”
