[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Andong City, Gyeongbuk Province, is recruiting companies to participate in the ‘2022 Demand-tailored Startup Support Project’ from June 20 to July 1, following last year.

The Demand-tailored Startup Support Project was established to contribute to the self-sustaining foundation and business stabilization of startup companies through customized funding support for promotion and marketing.

The city supports up to 10 million KRW per company for promotion and marketing expenses, and startup companies can apply by selecting the necessary fields among nine support areas such as design development and website production.

The recruitment target is companies less than seven years old with an address in Andong City, and about 15 participating companies will be selected through screening among the applicants.

Payment of support funds will be made by first paying 70% (first installment) of the support fund after selection, and the remaining 30% (second installment) will be decided through a mid-term evaluation.

For application and inquiries, please refer to the Andong-type Job Project Group website.

Last year, Andong City selected 10 companies in the ‘Demand-tailored Startup Support Project’ and supported the production of promotional materials and marketing worth about 10 million KRW per company.

The CEO of Sejung Tour Mall, who participated in the project last year and received support, said, “We had difficulties due to reduced travel demand caused by COVID-19, but with the city’s support, we were able to reduce the burden of promotion costs,” adding, “Especially, SNS marketing and live commerce broadcasts were very effective in promoting to customers.”

A city official said, “We plan to help startup companies establish themselves as competitive companies through customized support in the fields of promotion and marketing,” and added, “We hope for the interest and participation of many excellent startup companies.”
