[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] The Democratic Party of Korea claimed that President Yoon Seok-yeol is effectively pressuring Jeon Hyun-hee, Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, and Han Sang-hyuk, Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission, to resign.

On the 18th, Cho Seung-hyun, the Democratic Party’s standing deputy spokesperson, released a statement titled "Does President Yoon Seok-yeol have the word 'double standards' in his dictionary?" expressing this view.

Deputy Spokesperson Cho said, "President Yoon Seok-yeol referred to Chairperson Jeon Hyun-hee and Chairperson Han Sang-hyuk as people who do not even need to attend Cabinet meetings, which involve many confidential discussions," adding, "This is effectively pressuring them to resign."

He continued, "President Yoon Seok-yeol was the prosecutor who investigated the 'Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism director resignation coercion case' under former President Park Geun-hye and punished it as abuse of power," and criticized, "Now that he is president, is he shamelessly coercing resignations?"

Deputy Spokesperson Cho also pointed out regarding President Yoon’s remark that the prosecution’s investigation into the Ministry of Industry and Trade blacklist case is a 'normal judicial system,' saying, "Is it corruption when others do it, but justice when he does? I do not understand the substance of Yoon Seok-yeol’s version of justice and fairness."
