Everland Metaverse Opens... Riding the T-Express Roller Coaster in Virtual Reality

Everland Metaverse Opens... Riding the T-Express Roller Coaster in Virtual Reality

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Enjoying amusement rides in virtual reality like playing a game. Samsung C&T Resort Division will officially open the 'Everland Metaverse,' where you can virtually experience Everland's major rides and contents, starting from 11 a.m. on the 17th.

Having become even more famous after Brazilian soccer players visited, the popular ride T-Express was experienced in virtual reality without actually going to Everland. When you access the Everland Metaverse based on Roblox, an avatar appears that you can control with the keyboard as if playing a game. To enter Everland in virtual reality, you must board a dedicated bus.

After getting off the bus, the first things that appear are spaces that actually exist in Everland, such as the Rose Garden, Four Seasons Garden, and Carnival Square. The scenes of the site were faithfully reproduced. By jumping using a trampoline, I moved straight to the T-Express boarding area. The exact appearance of T-Express was recreated, allowing even a reporter who usually rides the ride with eyes closed to feel the angle, speed, and surrounding scenery while going up, and to experience the thrill by watching the rotation section and the drop from the peak directly. To make it feel like a real experience, the screen can also switch to the rider’s perspective.

In addition to T-Express, the Royal Jubilee Carousel (merry-go-round) and Festival Train could be boarded immediately in virtual reality without waiting. In every space you move through, you can collect coins, and you can also challenge a game where you meet the main character Bambam Man of the Shooting Water Fun and have an exciting water gun fight to earn points. You can also chat through the chat window.

The Everland Metaverse was planned to digitally expand Everland’s worldview and provide new customer experiences while connecting online and offline experiences. Adding game methods to the fun elements of Everland’s content is also a concept different from existing metaverses that mainly focus on avatar customization.

The 'collaboration' with Samsung Electronics, Samsung Card, KB Card, and others is also noteworthy. Samsung Electronics, celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the lifestyle-customized home appliance 'BESPOKE,' will hold a 'BESPOKE Fan Party' at Everland on the 18th, and related advertisements can be seen on a large screen in virtual reality. Through cooperative marketing with card companies, if users complete various given missions such as attendance check and T-Express boarding, they will randomly receive Everland admission tickets, priority ride passes, gift cards, or items usable in Everland Roblox.

Everland will also hold various events to commemorate the metaverse opening. All users will receive the Everland representative attraction 'Amazon Express' uniform item, which has recently become a hot item on SNS. Additionally, the top three scorers in the water gun fight with Bambam Man will be selected weekly and gifted a Nintendo Switch or Robux, the currency usable in Roblox.

Various events will also be held on Everland’s SNS channels. After customizing their characters using Everland goods in Roblox and posting a verification post on SNS, or leaving a friend-tagging comment related to the Everland Metaverse opening on Instagram, users will receive Everland admission tickets, gift cards, game items, and more.

Yoo Yang-gon, Executive Director of Samsung C&T Resort Division, said, "Starting with European Adventure, we will expand the metaverse to several areas within the park and continuously develop digilog (a combination of digital and analog) content linking the digital world and the park to present to customers. We plan to continuously expand the metaverse ecosystem not only for Everland but also for Speedway, golf courses, and more in collaboration with digital innovation companies."
