This Summer's 'Operation Name' is Zero Water Play Accidents... Yeongju City Goes All Out for Guardian Training to Achieve Zero Safety Incidents

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, is launching the "Zero Water Play Safety Accident" project starting with safety guardian training on the 16th, ahead of the full-scale summer water play season.

With the lifting of COVID-19 social distancing measures, Yeongju City expects a significant increase in water play visitors and is conducting training for 20 water play safety guardians at the city hall civil defense shelter in cooperation with Yeongju Fire Station.

The training covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation, lifesaving techniques, and accident response procedures.

Additionally, according to the "2022 Water Play Safety Measures Promotion Plan" established last May, the period until August 31 is designated as the water play safety management period, focusing administrative efforts on preventing any fatal accidents related to water play.

After completing the training, the water play safety guardians and public officials will be deployed from the 21st to 10 water play management areas (Punggi Geumseonjeong, Munsu Museomgyo and Sudogyo, Pyeongeun Mirimgyo, Hanjeonggyo, Gahung 2-gyo, in front of Yukgakjeong, Yeongjugyo, Seocheongyo, Jangsugyo) to conduct patrols and guidance.

To prepare for water play safety accidents, the city plans to complete the installation of warning signs and inspection and maintenance of safety facilities such as lifesaving kits in the water play management areas within this month, and to promote water play safety accident prevention by broadcasting promotional videos on the disaster situation electronic display boards by the end of this month.
