[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Chinese President Xi Jinping reportedly discussed ways to resolve the Ukraine crisis with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 15th.
According to China Central (CC) TV, President Xi expressed China's willingness to help resolve the Ukraine crisis during a phone call with President Putin that day.
President Xi stated, "The Ukraine crisis must be resolved appropriately in a responsible manner," and added, "China wishes to continue playing a role in this effort."
He further explained, "China has consistently made independent and autonomous judgments based on the historical background and facts of the Ukraine issue, actively promoting world peace and the stability of the global economic order."
Additionally, he expressed the willingness for cooperation between China and Russia.
China has emphasized resolving the Ukraine crisis through negotiations without condemning Russia or others involved.
In response, President Putin reportedly said, "We support the global security initiative proposed by China and oppose any forces interfering in China's internal affairs under the pretext of Xinjiang, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and so forth."
