[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The Minsheng Priority Action Group of the Democratic Party of Korea visited a livelihood site on the 15th and urged President Yoon Seok-yeol to "show actions for the common people's economy amid the economic crisis."

Members of the Minsheng Priority Action Group, led by Floor Leader Park Hong-geun, visited the Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Yeouidaebang-ro branch at 10:30 a.m. that day to listen to the difficulties faced by ordinary people and those on the ground due to high inflation. Policy Committee Chairman Kim Seong-hwan, Chief of Floor Operations Jin Seong-jun, Representative Kim Young-joo (Seoul Yeongdeungpo-gu Gap), and Floor Spokesperson Lee Su-jin toured the mart and examined items whose prices have recently surged.

Floor Leader Park said, "Recently, a new term 'Jangpo-jok,' meaning people who have given up shopping, has even emerged. Isn't this a word that reflects reality as it is?" He added, "Therefore, I hope the Yoon administration will respond to this situation more responsibly." He emphasized, "We will create price stabilization measures through communication with you all and work together to consider necessary policies and legislative tasks based on voices from the field."

Representative Kim Young-joo criticized, "The common people's economy is getting harder day by day, but the Yoon administration's efforts to overcome this situation are not noticeable." She said, "The sight of President Yoon and his wife buying bread at a bakery far from their official residence and leisurely eating popcorn while watching a movie at a theater enrages citizens who are struggling with rising prices."
