Youngest Provincial Assembly Member Recommended by Honam
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The Democratic Party of Korea has additionally appointed Seo Nan-i, a '30s, female, and Honam region native,' as an emergency committee member and Jeonbuk Provincial Councilor.
Woo Sang-ho, the Democratic Party's emergency committee chairman, held a press conference at the National Assembly on the 12th and said, "There was no one among the emergency committee members who could represent the Honam region, so we appointed Councilor Seo, who has served twice as a basic councilor and was elected as the youngest provincial councilor this time, having mainly engaged in politics in the Honam area, as an emergency committee member." He added, "As the youngest provincial councilor at 36, we expect her to be a party member who will voice much more reformist opinions about the Democratic Party's image emerging in the Honam region."
Earlier, the Democratic Party stated that after forming the emergency committee, they would appoint three female, youth, and other committee members later. On this day, Chairman Woo explained, "Regarding Councilor Seo's appointment, we have completed consultations with Song Gap-seok, chairman of the Gwangju City Party, and Kim Seong-ju, chairman of the Jeonbuk Provincial Party, and received their full consent and recommendation."
Councilor Seo is a figure who served two terms as a basic councilor in the Jeonbuk region and was elected as the youngest Jeonbuk Provincial Councilor in the recent June 1 local elections.
