[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) held a donation ceremony with Lim Young-woong fan club 'Seoul Northeast Hero Era' at the district mayor's office at 2 p.m. on the 9th.

The ceremony was arranged as the fan club expressed their intention to donate 6.3 million KRW raised for social contribution activities in celebration of Lim Young-woong's birthday.

According to the donor's request, the donation will be delivered to the local childcare facility Seongmojae Dream Hill operated by the Korean Martyrs Sisters.

The Seoul Northeast Hero Era fan club donated money to Seongmojae Dream Hill and goods to Surak Nursing Home last year, and through continuous sharing, received an award for outstanding donors for a warm winter in March this year.

The ceremony was attended by District Mayor Oh Seung-rok and representatives of the Lim Young-woong fan club, proceeding with the donation ceremony and commemorative photo session.

District Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “The donated money will be a great help to children in need,” and added, “I thank the fan club for spreading positive influence through volunteering and sharing beyond just gathering.”

Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) opened the ecological rice paddy at Anyangcheon Urban Agriculture Experience Center and held a traditional rice planting event on the 9th.

About 40 elderly people recommended by the Dong Community Center, Mokhwa Senior Citizens Center, Health Center Mind Sharing Garden Counseling Office, and Hoam Senior Welfare Center participated, and the event was filled with various attractions such as ukulele performances and pungmul (traditional Korean percussion music).

Geumcheon-gu newly established an ecological rice paddy of 60 pyeong (about 200㎡) using idle land at Anyangcheon Urban Agriculture Experience Center (719-5 Jwan, Doksan-dong, near Geumcheon Han-nae Bridge) this year.

By creating a rice paddy landscape in part of the weekend farm garden that can evoke nostalgia for middle-aged and older adults' childhood, it provides various sights for residents walking along Anyangcheon.

District Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon said, “I hope the elderly in the city who have difficulty experiencing rural scenery could enjoy the richness of agriculture through the experience event filled with Nongak (farmers' music) and Pungak (traditional music),” and added, “We plan to hold a rice harvesting experience on a fall day in November when the rice plants have grown well, and we hope for many participants then as well.”
