Yongin City Provides 'Safety Education' for 1,000 Workers at Children's Facilities

[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province conducted safety training for 1,000 workers at children's facilities in the area from the 7th to the 10th.

The current "Act on the Safety Management of Children" requires workers at children's facilities to complete at least 4 hours of children's safety education annually, including first aid practice. The training targets personnel related to "children's facilities" as defined by the Act on the Safety Management of Children, such as daycare centers, academies, specialized sports facilities, performance venues, and child welfare facilities.

The trainees practiced infant, child, and adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED) at Yongin Mir Stadium in Samga-dong, Cheoin-gu.

They also learned how to respond to airway obstruction, experienced emergency situations through AR and VR simulations, and studied various emergency response methods.

A city official stated, "Workers involved with children must receive safety training to prepare for any accidents," adding, "This training, focused on practical first aid exercises, is expected to greatly improve the ability to respond in actual emergency situations."
