Geoje City Attracts Outsiders... Immediate Resale Possible 'Geoje Yurim Norway Forest The Ocean' July Sale

There is an increasing trend of out-of-town investors making expeditionary investments in the real estate market of Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do.

According to data from the Korea Real Estate Board, among the total 782 apartment sales transactions in Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, in the first quarter of this year, 341 transactions (43.61%) were purchases by buyers from outside the jurisdiction. This is an increase of 11.09 percentage points compared to 32.51% in the first quarter of last year, meaning that 4 out of 10 apartments in Geoje-si were bought by outsiders.

Accordingly, the monthly apartment sales price index has continued to rise. In particular, in April of this year, Geoje-si recorded a 0.49% change rate in the sales price index, the highest among the eight cities in Gyeongnam.

The biggest reason for the popularity of Geoje-si apartments is that it is a non-regulated area. If one has been subscribed to a housing subscription savings account for more than six months and deposited a certain amount, any household member, not just the head of the household, can apply regardless of the number of houses owned. There are no restrictions on re-winning, loan regulations are loose, and immediate resale is possible upon full payment of the contract deposit.

The industry analyzes that the revival of the shipbuilding industry, which had slowed due to COVID-19, and the positive impact of large national projects such as the Southern Inland Railway (Western Gyeongnam KTX) and Gadeok New Airport have contributed to the economic recovery.
