Gwangju Nam-gu Recruiting ‘SNS Reporters’ Roaming Across the Region

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is openly recruiting a resident reporter group who wish to deliver administrative agency news and various neighborhood news to local residents through SNS with the start of the 8th term of the elected government.

On the 8th, Nam-gu announced, “We are recruiting the 3rd Nam-gu Toktok SNS Reporter Group to strengthen the online communication system using social media and to listen to the small voices of residents,” adding, “We look forward to the active participation of residents who want to communicate actively with residents and perform the role of reporters.”

The recruitment for the Nam-gu Toktok SNS Reporter Group will be held for 10 days from today until the 17th.

Applicants must be 18 years or older, residing in Gwangju or working or attending school there, and operate a personal SNS account while being able to produce and edit photos and videos.

Citizens who have great interest and affection for Nam-gu’s district administration are especially welcomed. After covering local events, festivals, attractions, and major institutions, they must post at least two articles per month on their personal SNS accounts.

Writers of articles and videos by resident reporters will receive a manuscript fee, with the payment amount up to 100,000 KRW per person per month.

Application forms can be downloaded from the announcement section on the Nam-gu Office website, and submissions can be made via email or by visiting the Public Relations Officer’s office on the 7th floor of Nam-gu Office.

The number of recruits is up to 15 people.

Selection will be made based on a comprehensive evaluation of personal SNS ownership and activation status, content production capabilities, and other factors, with those scoring highest selected. If there is no activity for more than three months without justifiable reasons or if inappropriate reasons such as damaging the dignity of the reporter group occur, dismissal is possible.

The activity period is one year, from July 16 this year to June 30 next year.

A Nam-gu official stated, “We will select residents with the capability as local opinion leaders as reporters to deliver useful information and voices to residents in the district.”
