HDC Labs Collaborates with LG Electronics to Target the High-End Premium Smart Home Market [Controlling within the household using Smart Mirror HID]

Spatial AIoT digital platform company HDC Labs announced plans to collaborate with LG Electronics to provide differentiated smart home services in the future.

By combining HDC Labs' residential space platform development capabilities with LG Electronics' smart appliances and AI platform technology, they aim to target the high-end premium smart home market.

Within each unit, signage-style design wall pads reflecting HDC Labs' design philosophy or LG Electronics' large touch display-embedded smart mirror HID are applied. Through this, services are provided that enable control of devices such as lighting, heating, gas, ventilation, and electric curtains in each unit; visitor communication functions at entrances and lobbies; elevator calls, unmanned parcel delivery, remote meter reading, and parking management through integration with the HomeNet complex server; as well as integrated control and management of LG Electronics' smart appliances including air conditioners, robot vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, and air purifiers.

Additionally, when home integrated solutions such as multi-sensors and voice recognition kits are applied, indoor air quality information analysis and voice control functions are also provided. The ability to integrate control of HDC Labs' HomeNet-connected devices and LG Electronics' smart appliances is enabled through the AI platform LG ThinQ app.

Not only residential spaces but also office spaces will be enhanced with technology to provide an environment where future office life can be experienced. The recently launched Seocho-dong Ermetia officetel incorporates the technology needed for premium residential spaces, while the high-end life office in Godeok Gangil District, considering its dual use as both residential and office space, will additionally apply functions such as parcel robot calling via smart mirror HID, attendance management, and shared office reservations beyond residential space services. In the future, cloud-based AI customized services based on sensor-driven environmental information, energy information, and appliance control information, as well as continuous updates of various subscription contents and value-added services aligned with the latest trends, will provide consumers with new value and experiences.

Meanwhile, HDC Labs and LG Electronics are also participating in the ‘Matter’ development consortium, a global home IoT communication standard led by global IT companies such as Google, Amazon, and Apple, and plan to actively respond to changes in the home IoT market ecosystem going forward.
