Participation in Busan Contents Market (BCM) 2022
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] KT announced on the 7th that its group media and content subsidiaries will participate in the broadcasting and video content marketplace 'Busan Contents Market (BCM) 2022,' held at BEXCO in Busan from the 8th to the 10th.
Now in its 16th year, the Busan Contents Market is the largest content business event in Korea, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Busan City, with over 400 companies from more than 40 countries worldwide participating.
As an official sponsor of BCM 2022, KT will set up promotional booths led by KT Studio Genie, which oversees the content business, along with its subsidiary skyTV under KT Skylife and distribution subsidiary KT Alpha. They plan to showcase original content produced and invested in by KT, as well as open video-on-demand (VOD) distributed by KT.
Kim Hun-bae, Executive Vice President and Head of KT Media Platform Business Division, said, "We will make this year the first year of growth for KT Group’s media content business by fully activating KT’s unique value chain, contributing not only to a virtuous cycle within the group but also to the development of Korea’s media content industry."
