[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) has been implementing the 'Da-alim' text notification service since May this year, which sends advance text messages to contract counterparts (companies) at key stages of contract signing.
This service was established to improve administrative efficiency and increase satisfaction among companies by notifying contract counterparts of major procedures via text messages, as the number of contracts for construction, services, and goods procurement in the district has steadily increased each year (Dobong-gu contract cases: 1,159 in 2018, 1,729 in 2021).
The text notification targets are contract counterparts (companies) who have submitted an application form for the 'Da-alim' text notification service. For private contracts, the ordering department receives the application form at the time of contract issuance, and for competitive bidding contracts, the Finance Department receives the application form upon selection of the successful bidder.
The district plans to pilot the text notification service for the '3-step' contract procedure until the end of this year, and after confirming satisfaction and effectiveness, expand it to cover the entire contract process from next year. The currently implemented 3-step guidance includes ▲ notification of contract signing and submission of documents such as the commencement report ▲ notification of expected completion date and payment request (5 days prior) ▲ notification of scheduled contract payment date (within 5 days from the request date).
A contract officer in the Finance Department of Dobong-gu Office stated, “There were many phone inquiries from companies about progress such as payment dates, making it difficult to explain each case individually. This text notification service allows standardized guidance in a timely manner, greatly aiding stable contract progress.”
Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “We implemented the text notification to prevent any possible omissions or accidents in the contract process by informing necessary matters and schedules in advance. We will actively guide contract officers to ensure that contracting companies can smoothly use the text notification service.”
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) Cheonho Health Center announced that it will be the first in Korea to introduce the 'Artificial Intelligence for Retinal and Cardiovascular Disease Analysis' service, certified as an innovative medical device by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The 'Artificial Intelligence for Retinal and Cardiovascular Disease Analysis' service is an AI diagnostic support device that evaluates the risk of eye diseases and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases of examinees through a simple fundus examination, enabling the prevention of complications from metabolic syndrome and chronic diseases in advance.
Metabolic syndrome, if left untreated, can cause various complications such as stroke, heart disease, and diabetic retinopathy, making early prevention and treatment important.
Cheonho Health Center currently operates a health management center providing metabolic syndrome and chronic disease prevention and management services for residents aged 20 and older. The AI fundus examination service is provided to those registered at the Cheonho Health Center's health management center.
By utilizing AI diagnostic support devices, Cheonho Health Center has been able to systematically manage complications in chronic disease patients in cooperation with local partner hospitals.
A Gangdong-gu official said, “The introduction of innovative services using AI technology has made early detection of eye diseases and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications in chronic disease patients possible. We will continue to do our best to provide various healthcare services utilizing AI technology.”
Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) will support traditional Korean medicine infertility treatment for infertile couples facing difficulties.
The traditional Korean medicine infertility treatment support project provides Korean medicine treatment to infertile couples to improve healthy fertility, supporting natural pregnancy and healthy childbirth.
Eligible applicants are Gangbuk-gu residents who have lived in Seoul for more than six months, including legally married couples as well as common-law partners.
The district plans to support 20 infertile couples this year. However, the female partner must be 44 years old or younger (born after January 1, 1977), and those receiving infertility treatment cost support from the government are not eligible to apply.
Applications can be made online through the Seoul Pregnancy and Childbirth Information Center website. If online application is not possible, applicants can visit the Gangbuk-gu Public Health Center with the required documents.
Selected infertility treatment recipients can receive 90% support for herbal medicine costs for three months of infertility treatment (up to approximately 1.2 million KRW), with 10% paid by the individual. Basic livelihood security recipients and low-income groups can receive full support.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Health Promotion Division of Gangbuk-gu Public Health Center.
Park Gyeom-su, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “This project is expected to reduce the economic burden on infertile couples and increase social interest in childbirth. We hope it will provide practical help to families who want to have children but are struggling with infertility.”
Gangnam-gu Public Health Center will hold a commemorative event on the 9th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the front yard on the first floor of the center under the slogan “Healthy Teeth, Healthy 100 Years” to mark the 77th Oral Health Day.
‘Oral Health Day’ is a national statutory commemorative day established to raise public understanding and interest in oral health. The date June 9 was chosen by combining the number ‘6’ representing the age when the first permanent molars erupt and ‘9’ representing molars (구치, 臼齒), symbolizing the importance of carefully managing permanent teeth that must be used for a lifetime.
At the event, activities such as ▲ oral health consultations ▲ education on prevention of cavities and periodontal disease ▲ guidance on the use of oral hygiene products like toothbrushes ▲ oral health knowledge quiz with prize giveaways will be held.
The district plans to provide correct oral health management information through the event, encouraging preventive dental care to help citizens manage their oral health.
Kim Hyo-seop, Director of Medical Affairs, said, “This event, which offers useful health information and generous prizes, is open not only to Gangnam-gu residents but to everyone. We hope many people participate to realize the importance of oral care, which has been neglected due to masks, and practice healthy oral care habits.”
