Recruitment for 'Let's Eat Together' Participants... Pohang Nam-gu Mental Health Welfare Center for Single-Person Households! Pohang City Nam-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, Recruitment Poster for Participants in 'Let's Eat Together' for Single-Person Households.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Pohang City Nam-gu Public Health Center Mental Health Welfare Center is recruiting participants for ‘Let’s Eat Together,’ part of the ‘Let’s Live Together’ life-respecting project tailored for single-person households among young and middle-aged adults in the region.

‘Let’s Eat Together’ is an online community meeting where single-person household members share a meal via non-face-to-face Zoom after finishing their day, sharing the hardships of the day and comforting each other.

This year, a total of 40 single-person household members will be recruited to operate ‘Let’s Eat Together.’ Small groups of 10 people will meet once a month, with each group having two meals together, for a total of 8 sessions.

At this time, the ‘Siksha’ meals will use lunchboxes prepared by the Healthy Dream Center operated by the Pohang Nanum Regional Self-Support Center. In particular, it is more meaningful as self-support enterprises participate in the life-respecting project tailored for single-person households.

Applications can be made by phone to the Pohang City Nam-gu Mental Health Welfare Center starting June 7, and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Since it may close early, those interested are encouraged to apply quickly. Due to COVID-19, the program will start using non-face-to-face Zoom, but plans are in place to meet offline depending on the situation.

Kim Jeong-im, head of Nam-gu Public Health Center, said, “I hope this project will be a modest but meaningful comfort to single-person households among young and middle-aged adults who are going through tough and exhausting days,” and added, “I expect the meeting to establish a foundation and become more active through the participation of many single-person household members who eat alone.”
