[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The '2022 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival,' held from August 5 to 7 at Songdo Dalbit Festival Park in Incheon, is launching the sale of the final discounted tickets before the event along with the announcement of the second lineup.
Hosted by Incheon City and co-organized by the Incheon Tourism Organization and Gyeonggi Ilbo, the Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival will welcome audiences face-to-face for the first time in three years following the lifting of social distancing measures.
All 10,000 pre-sale tickets drew great attention, with 3,000 blind tickets sold on the 12th of last month and 7,000 early bird tickets sold immediately after the first lineup was revealed on the 20th.
The first announced performers included top domestic and international artists such as Vampire Weekend, who won the 2020 Grammy Award for 'Best Alternative Music Album,' Japanese Breakfast led by Korean-American Michelle Zauner, and leading Korean modern rock bands like NELL and Jannabi.
The newly revealed second lineup features artists such as Jaurim, celebrating their 25th anniversary and beloved for the OST of the TV drama 'Twenty-Five Twenty-One,' as well as Silica Gel, Kim Deutdol, and Bongje Ingan.
The third lineup, which will include additional overseas acts, is scheduled to be announced around mid-month.
Additionally, the emerging artist discovery program 'Penta Super Rookie' is currently accepting band applications until the 10th. Winning teams will receive prize money and the opportunity to perform on the third stage of the Pentaport Rock Festival.
The final discounted tickets, called Mania Tickets, have been on sale in limited quantities since the 3rd. They are available at a 10% discount off the regular price, with an additional 5% discount offered when paying with a KB Kookmin Card. Tickets can be purchased through Interpark and Ticketlink.
