June Admission Briefing Session with Top Admission Experts Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) announced that the Dongdaemun Admission Counseling Center will hold a 'College Admission and Entrance Examination Briefing Session' for three consecutive Saturdays starting from the 11th to bridge the gap in admission information.

This briefing session will be held face-to-face in the basement level 2 company academy of the district office for the first time in over two years since the COVID-19 social distancing measures were lifted. The session will be conducted safely in accordance with quarantine guidelines.

The briefing sessions will be held over three weeks from June 11 to provide updated education curriculum changes and college entrance information aligned with the admission schedule. To reduce scheduling burdens for both students and parents, the sessions will be held on Saturdays.

On June 11, Kim Yong-jin, a specialized instructor for the Ministry of Education's high school credit system and a teacher at Dongdaemun Girls' High School, will provide admission information under the themes of 'Understanding Changes in the Curriculum Due to the Introduction of the High School Credit System' and 'How to Choose the Right Subjects for Me (Understanding the Curriculum and Subject Selection)'.

On June 18, Park Moon-soo, a teacher at Cheongwon Girls' High School, and Kim Myung-ok, an admissions officer active on the Daekyo University Admission TV, will give lectures on 'Understanding the 2023 College Admission Rolling Screening' and 'Understanding the Comprehensive Student Record Screening'.

On the final day, June 25, an admission briefing for the Incheon Global Campus (State University of New York, George Mason University, University of Utah, Ghent University) will be held on the 9th floor of the district office, while in the basement level 2, Kim Myung-ok will provide useful information on writing self-introduction letters and interview strategies.

Students and parents wishing to participate can apply through the Dongdaemun Admission Counseling Center website up to three days before the respective briefing session. For inquiries, contact the Education Support Division of Dongdaemun District Office.

A district official stated, “This 'Dongdaemun Admission Counseling Center June Briefing Session' was prepared to easily convey complex admission information such as the high school credit system and college entrance screening to students and parents preparing for college entrance,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to provide various admission programs tailored to residents' needs for the prosperous lives and proper growth of the students, who are the future of the region.”
