[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gui-yeol] The Gyeongbuk Office of Education will conduct regional on-site training sessions on June 4 in Gumi, June 11 in Andong, and June 25 in Gyeongju to strengthen the SW-AI educational capabilities of elementary and secondary school teachers.
This training aims to enhance teachers' competencies in software (SW) and artificial intelligence (AI) education to cultivate students' computational thinking, data analysis, and digital literacy, preparing them to lead the future.
The "AI Convergence Education Capability Enhancement Course" consists of educational cases that can be integrated with other subjects, including ▲Understanding AI Education ▲AI Ethics ▲Practical AI Convergence Education Using Machine Learning Platforms.
The "Data-Based AI Course" was established to enable schools to utilize the "Data-Based AI Educational Materials" developed last year by the Gyeongbuk AI Research Association. It covers ▲Practical Machine Learning ▲Data Analysis Using Public Data and AI Prediction.
This training was designed with a focus on case studies and hands-on practice to improve applicability in the field, based on the needs of schools. Participants were selected through applications received in early May, and additional participants were accepted due to higher-than-expected demand.
Park Jong-hwal, Director of Policy, stated, "In an unpredictable future society, computational thinking, which can abstract complex problems and solve them creatively, will be an essential competency." He added, "For teachers who could not participate in this training, we will plan commissioned training at AI convergence education graduate schools and SW-AI education training to do our best in strengthening teachers' SW-AI educational capabilities."
