Yeongju Red Cross Hospital Fully Lifts Infectious Disease Designation... Over 25,000 COVID-19 Patients Treated Yeongju Red Cross Hospital.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongju Red Cross Hospital was fully released from being an infectious disease dedicated hospital on May 31 and has normalized all general medical services since the 1st of this month.

This comes after being designated as a secondary infectious disease dedicated hospital on December 13, 2020, for about 1 year and 5 months.

During this period, Yeongju Red Cross Hospital admitted and treated a total of 25,432 COVID-19 patients. Through 24-hour COVID-19 home treatment management, a respiratory specialty clinic, and operation of screening clinics, it has played a role as a medical safety net at the forefront of quarantine efforts.

Following the full release from the infectious disease dedicated hospital status, Yeongju Red Cross Hospital plans to restore all general medical systems to pre-COVID-19 levels, including general inpatient and outpatient care, 24-hour emergency room, health promotion center, operating rooms, intensive care unit, and pediatric and adolescent night care, after quarantine, disinfection, and remodeling work.

Kim Cheol-ho, director of Yeongju Red Cross Hospital, said, “Even in the unprecedented situation of COVID-19, Yeongju Red Cross Hospital was able to fulfill its role as an infectious disease dedicated hospital thanks to the dedication of medical staff and the support of Yeongju citizens.”
