Doosan Construction's ‘Uljin Station Central Doosan We’ve,’ supplied near Uljin Station in Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk in June, is expected to benefit from the cancellation of the nuclear phase-out policy.
According to the new government's nuclear power policy, the construction of Shin-Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4 in Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, is expected to resume. In addition, projects such as the establishment of a hydrogen production and demonstration complex utilizing nuclear power and the creation of an East Coast nuclear cluster are being actively promoted. As Uljin-gun around Uljin Station is growing into a nuclear industry city, effects such as job creation, population inflow, infrastructure expansion, and improvement of residential conditions are expected, causing the real estate market to stir.
Once Shin-Hanul Units 3 and 4 become operational, the area around Uljin Station in Uljin-gun will become the largest domestic cluster with a total of 10 nuclear reactors. Riding on this momentum, Uljin-gun plans to apply for a preliminary feasibility study for the establishment of a national industrial complex specialized in nuclear hydrogen, which will serve as a new driving force for regional development in the first half of this year.
Moreover, the East Coast nuclear cluster project, centered on Uljin and Gyeongju, is being promoted with 19 detailed projects across five fields: research and demonstration, workforce training, industrial development, safety management and cultural spaces, and public institutions. This is expected to give birth to an even larger nuclear industry city.
An industry insider said, “Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, is considered the biggest beneficiary area of President Yoon Suk-yeol’s policy to cancel the nuclear phase-out.” He added, “With the resumption of Shin-Hanul Units 3 and 4 construction and the revitalization of the nuclear industry, population inflow will follow, leading to increased housing demand. The ongoing nuclear projects are also a boon for the area around Uljin Station.”
Meanwhile, ‘Uljin Station Central Doosan We’ve,’ located near Uljin Station, is already seeing strong sales enthusiasm from local and regional buyers as a residential area for nuclear industry workers.
