Operation of Financial Counseling Office for Residents Until November
Counseling and Support for Debt Adjustment, Financial Diagnosis, and Illegal Private Loan Damage
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 31st that it will operate a ‘Visiting Financial Counseling Room’ to enhance residents' financial capabilities and ensure that no one misses out on using the low-income financial support system due to lack of awareness.
From the 7th of next month until November, financial counseling services will be provided, including ▲credit recovery and debt adjustment such as personal rehabilitation, bankruptcy, and discharge ▲household financial diagnosis and planning ▲consultation on illegal private loans.
Counseling will be conducted by financial welfare counselors visiting the resident’s nearby community service center or preferred location upon prior application to the Buk-gu Office’s Livelihood Economy Division Self-Employment Support Center, and there is no cost for the service.
Through counseling, Buk-gu plans to guide appropriate financial support systems and relief measures tailored to each situation and support economic recovery by linking with related organizations such as the Buk Gwangju Low-Income Financial Integrated Support Center.
A Buk-gu official said, “We will continue to promote various policies to stabilize residents’ household economy and support the independence of financially vulnerable groups.”
Meanwhile, in 2020, Buk-gu received the Presidential Award in the inclusive finance category at the government awards commemorating Financial Day, recognizing its contribution to resolving financial difficulties of vulnerable groups, small business owners, and SMEs.
