[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Candidate Lee Byeongno for Damyang County Governor appealed on the 31st for support and active voting participation, saying, "Each vote of the 50,000 residents will be the power to create a new Damyang."
Candidate Lee stated, "The election campaign, which continued from the primary process, was a grand journey where I deeply felt the wishes of the 50,000 residents longing for a new Damyang," and added, "I will definitely win this election and repay the support and encouragement I have received."
The local election voting on June 1 will be simultaneously conducted from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 22 polling stations, including the Damyang-eup Office.
Voting must be conducted at the designated polling station, and only one candidate can be marked per ballot paper.
Candidate Lee said, "This election was a reality check that we cannot entrust Damyang's future to candidates who have focused on negative campaigning without adequate capability," criticizing the opposing camp's election campaign, which was stained by baseless slander and allegations of vote-buying.
He continued, "The vote cast by each of the 50,000 residents will return as the construction of a 'new Damyang,'" urging, "Please make sure to participate in the voting."
Furthermore, he emphasized, "I will definitely win this election and, through bold open administration, eliminate the evils of a local society dominated by vested interests and create a new Damyang where all 50,000 residents are happy through communicative administration."
