[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongseo University held the Evergreen Project 'Evergreen Film University 2nd Entrance Ceremony' and '1st Graduation Ceremony' on the 27th at the Chaseong Art Hall of Gijang-gun Office, Gijang-gun, Busan.

Evergreen Film University is a core project of the Evergreen Project, a program that trains seniors aged 65 and over residing in Gijang-gun as local actors.

The goal is to help the elderly discover their own value through cultural and artistic education, transform their lives, and lead a second life.

The entrance ceremony was attended by 11 first-term film university students, 12 new second-term students, and about 30 people including officials from Dongseo University and Gijang-gun.

Kim Hyung-woo, a professor at Dongseo University and the project manager, presented the 2021 Evergreen Film University completion plaque to the first-term students, and the first-term students directly awarded the Evergreen Film University badge to the second-term entrants, cheering them on for their new start.

Project manager Professor Kim Hyung-woo said, "Based on close cooperation between Dongseo University and Gijang-gun, we are planning various programs to become an 'Evergreen' for seniors, by seniors, and of seniors."

The film university students will receive professional actor training for six months at the Jukseong Dream Set in Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun.

The second-term entrants will take basic courses such as acting, singing, and dancing three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while the first-term students will attend advanced courses twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday.

The advanced course was established this year reflecting the requests of the first-term film university students.

The film university students will also belong to the Evergreen Agency and work as senior actors.

The agency continuously manages the film university students to ensure they are cast in films, broadcasts, and advertisements.

First-term students Kim Jun-tae and Lee Hae-soon passed the public service advertisement audition for the 'Start with Me Challenge' campaign complying with COVID-19 prevention guidelines last year and gave passionate performances.

Dongseo University plans to actively support human and material infrastructure by providing curricula utilizing the faculty of the Im Kwon-taek College of Film Arts.

They plan to provide experiences to senior students by co-planning performances with film students and holding visits to welfare centers and marginalized groups, thereby offering cultural enjoyment opportunities even to culturally marginalized groups in the region.

The Evergreen Project has been operating for two years with support from the Busan Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Institute's community coexistence and cooperation support project since last year.

Dongseo University has been selected for the project for four consecutive years, recognizing the excellence of its project operation.
