Memorandum of Understanding for the Construction Promotion between Cheongju City Hall and the City Council
The Traditional Architecture Repair Technology Promotion Foundation and Cheongju City Hall will sign a memorandum of understanding at 5 p.m. on the 31st in the Cheongju City Hall conference room to promote the establishment of the Cultural Heritage Repair Support Center (tentative name). The Cultural Heritage Repair Support Center is a specialized institution providing technical support for architectural cultural heritage repair projects. It is responsible for scientific investigation, diagnosis, and reuse (repair and reinforcement) treatments. Considering geographical accessibility and connectivity, as well as the utilization of closed school resources (Oksan Elementary School Soro Branch), the center is being promoted for establishment in Cheongju. The two organizations will pursue administrative and financial cooperation for the establishment of the Cultural Heritage Repair Support Center and plans for coexistence with local residents. An official from the Cultural Heritage Administration stated, “We aim to preserve and inherit the authenticity and value of cultural heritage by maximizing the reuse of components.”
